Object groups: showcase an entire catalog in augmented reality

3D object group in augmented reality

Why group your 3D objects

When you offer multiple products to a client, the sharing question arises immediately. Sending one link per product quickly becomes unmanageable: five products, five links, five QR codes. The client receives a list of links they don't know how to organize, forgets some, confuses references. The experience is fragmented and unprofessional. Yet you want to show them your entire offering in a smooth and structured way.

The object groups feature solves this problem elegantly. A group brings together multiple 3D objects under a single link and a single QR code. The client scans one code or clicks one link and accesses all products in the group. They browse the list, select the product they're interested in, view it in 3D and augmented reality, then move to the next with a simple gesture. The experience is smooth, professional, and memorable.

This mechanism is particularly powerful in contexts where you need to present a complete range: a furniture catalog during a client meeting, a lighting collection at a trade show, a series of industrial equipment in a commercial proposal. Instead of multiplying materials, you centralize everything in a group and let the client freely navigate between products. It's the equivalent of a virtual mini-showroom accessible from any smartphone.

Groups also simplify internal management. You create one group per context — one for the Milan show, one for client Durand, one for the premium range — and update the content without changing the sharing link. If you add a new product to the collection, it automatically appears in the group. The client who saved the link finds the updated version without any action on their part.

How groups work on Visuality

How groups work on Visuality is designed to be simple and intuitive. From your dashboard, you access the Groups section and create a new group in a few clicks. You give it an explicit name — for example 'Spring 2026 Collection' or 'CNC Machines Catalog' — then select the 3D objects you want to include. Objects are chosen from those you've already imported into your 3D library.

Once the group is created, Visuality automatically generates a dedicated sharing link and QR code. When a visitor opens the link, they arrive on a page displaying the list of objects in the group with their names and visuals. They select an object and the 3D viewer opens immediately. They can explore the product from every angle, zoom in on details, and activate augmented reality to project the product at full size in their environment.

Switching from one object to another is seamless. The client returns to the list with a simple gesture and selects another product. No need to scan a new QR code or type another URL. The entire experience takes place in the same session, which encourages exploration and comparison between products. It's exactly the behavior you expect from a client in a physical showroom, transposed into a digital format accessible everywhere.

You can create as many groups as needed and a single object can belong to multiple groups simultaneously. This flexibility allows you to adapt your presentations to each context without duplicating your 3D models. A sofa can appear in the 'Living Room Furniture' group and the 'Hotel Riviera Client Meeting' group without any constraint.

Object group use cases

Object groups adapt to many professional contexts. Here are the situations where this feature brings the most value:

  • Trade show: You're exhibiting at a trade show and your booth can't physically accommodate all your products. Create a group containing your entire catalog and display a single giant QR code on your banner. Each visitor scans the code and browses your products in 3D and augmented reality right in the show aisle. You present 50, 100 or 200 products without transporting a single box. The group transforms your few-square-meter booth into an unlimited showroom.
  • Sales demo: You're at a client meeting and don't know exactly which products will interest them. Prepare a group with a broad selection from your range. During the meeting, present the group on your tablet or send the link to the client. They browse products, select the ones they're interested in, and project them in augmented reality in their space. The sales conversation relies on concrete visuals and engagement is immediate.
  • E-commerce category page: You sell online and want to offer an immersive experience on a category page. Integrate the group link into your site to let visitors browse category products in 3D. Instead of simple photos, the client explores each product from every angle and projects it at home. This approach significantly increases time spent on page and conversion rate.
  • Virtual showroom: You want to create a remotely accessible showroom, for example for international clients or to complement a physical showroom. An object group constitutes an instant virtual showroom. Share the link by email, on your social networks or in your email signature. Your clients browse your offer in 3D from anywhere in the world, at any time. It's a showroom that never closes and costs nothing in rent.

Groups and offline mode

One of the major assets of object groups is their compatibility with the offline mode of the Visuality Android app. In many professional contexts, internet connection is not guaranteed: exhibition halls with saturated WiFi, industrial premises without network coverage, rural areas with weak mobile signal. These situations are frequent and can compromise a sales demo if you depend solely on the web.

With the Android app, you download all 3D models from your groups before traveling. Models are stored locally on your tablet or smartphone. On site, you open the app, select the group and present your products in 3D and augmented reality without any internet connection. The experience is identical to the online version: navigation between products, 3D viewing, AR projection. The difference is that everything works locally, without depending on the network.

This feature is particularly valuable for field sales representatives who visit clients in varied environments. Whether you're in a warehouse, a construction site, a factory or a crowded trade show, your demonstration works reliably and smoothly. It's the guarantee of consistent professionalism, regardless of technical conditions.

How to create an object group

Creating an object group on Visuality takes just a few simple steps. Here is the complete process to set up your first group and start sharing your products:

  • Access the Groups page: From your Visuality dashboard, click on the 'Groups' section in the main menu. You arrive on the page that lists your existing groups and allows you to create new ones. If it's your first use, the page is empty and invites you to create your first group.
  • Create a new group: Click the creation button. Give your group an explicit name to find it easily. For example: 'Office Range 2026', 'Maison & Objet Show' or 'Client Dupont'. The name is only visible to you in your dashboard, not to visitors who will access the group.
  • Select your 3D objects: Add 3D objects from your library to the group. You can add as many objects as you want. The order of objects in the group determines the display order for visitors. Rearrange them according to the most relevant presentation logic for your context.
  • Get the link and QR code: Once the group is created and objects added, Visuality automatically generates a sharing link and QR code. Copy the link to send by email or message. Download the QR code in high resolution to print on your materials: roll-ups, product sheets, business cards, brochures. The QR code works on all modern smartphones without any app to download.
  • Test and share: Before distributing your group, test it by scanning the QR code or opening the link on your smartphone. Verify that all objects display correctly, navigation between products is smooth and augmented reality works. Once validated, share the link or QR code with your clients, prospects and partners.
