What is the story behind Visuality?

Visuality was launched in 2023 by Inside Learning, a French company based in Saint-Vincent-de-Paul, in the Landes department of south-west France. Its purpose: to let businesses show their products to customers in 3D and augmented reality without asking them to install an app.

In November 2023, Visuality was listed on Les Pépites Tech, a website that showcases French Tech startups. Alongside the web platform, Visuality offers an Android app, available on Google Play, which can also present a catalogue offline, for example at a trade show or at a customer's premises.

In May 2026, Visuality released its app on the Shopify App Store: Shopify merchants can display their products in 3D and augmented reality on their product pages, with a subscription billed by Shopify in US dollars. Visuality was also featured on Product Hunt in 2026.

What does Visuality do, and what doesn't it do?

What Visuality does

  • Hosts your 3D models in GLB or USD/USDZ format (USD files are converted to GLB on import) and displays them in an interactive 3D viewer.
  • Display your products in augmented reality, at real size, on iPhone, iPad and Android, with no app for your customers to install: on the floor, or on a wall on Android.
  • Lets you share each object by link, QR code or iframe, and connect it to Shopify, PrestaShop or your own tools through the REST API.
  • Generates a 3D model from a photo using AI, with a monthly conversion quota included in every plan.
  • Group several objects behind a single link (one object at a time via a selector; several objects at once in augmented reality with the Android app), offer color or option variants, play animations and take photos.

What Visuality doesn't do

  • No virtual try-on on the face or body: Visuality does not overlay glasses, make-up or clothing on a person. It places objects in the real space around you.
  • No 3D editor or configurator: Visuality is not used to create or modify a model's geometry. It displays and shares existing or AI-generated models.
  • No per-view billing: shared objects get unlimited views. Plans differ by the number of 3D objects and the AI conversion quota.

How is Visuality built?

Visuality relies on web standards rather than a proprietary app: augmented reality opens straight from the phone's browser.

Visuality's technical building blocks
Component Technology used
3D viewer model-viewer, an open-source web component published by Google (Apache 2.0 licence)
Augmented reality on Android Google Scene Viewer or WebXR, from the browser
Augmented reality on iPhone and iPad Apple's AR Quick Look, with a USDZ file generated by Visuality on its servers
Accepted formats GLB and USD/USDZ (USD files are converted to GLB on import)
Hosting OVHcloud (OVH SAS, Roubaix, France)
Languages French and English

For iPhone and iPad, Visuality automatically generates the USDZ file from your GLB: the object's scale is baked into the file, very heavy AI-generated models are reduced to about 200,000 triangles and textures are capped at 2048 pixels, so the object opens smoothly on a phone.

No. Visuality does not do virtual try-on on the face or body: it does not overlay glasses, make-up or clothing on a person. It displays objects in 3D and places them in the real space around you, on the floor or on a wall and at real size, which suits furniture, decoration, equipment and other standalone products.

No. Visuality is neither modelling software nor a 3D configurator: it is not used to create or modify a model's geometry. It hosts, displays and shares existing models in GLB or USDZ format, or models generated by AI from a photo. For custom modelling, the Visuality team provides a quote on request.

The visuality.fr website and the Visuality platform are hosted by OVH SAS (OVHcloud), a French company headquartered at 2 rue Kellermann in Roubaix. Uploaded 3D models and the USDZ files generated for iPhone are stored on these servers. The host's full details are listed in the legal notice.

Yes. Visuality offers an Android app, available on Google Play, which lets you browse your 3D objects and present them offline, for example at a trade show or at a customer's premises. On iPhone and iPad, no app is needed: augmented reality opens from the browser through AR Quick Look. So your customers have nothing to install.
